NSW: Neurosurgeons welcome govt offer

Neurosurgeons have welcomed the New South Wales government's new medical indemnity
offer, saying it has averted a collapse in specialist services.

New South Wales Neurological Association president Dr WARWICK STENING says the group
hails the CARR government's decision to cover all public patients in public hospitals.

This means visiting medical officers, doctors on contracts, are covered by the insurance
policy when treating public patients in New South Wales public hospitals.

The move brings the New South Wales system into line with other states.
