Fed: Boswell says CLP wrong to give preferences to One Nation

National Party senate leader RON BOSWELL says the Country Liberal Party is wrong to
give preferences to One Nation ahead of Labor at the upcoming Northern Territory election.

One Nation is running candidates in five Country Liberal seats for the August 18 poll
amid a record field of 88 candidates.

It's a move that threatens the party's 26-year unbroken hold on government.

Senator BOSWELL, who faces a threat from One Nation founder PAULINE HANSON to keep
his own seat, says the Country Liberal Party is not formally associated with the coalition.

He has told ABC radio that he thinks it's the wrong decision as parties do things differently
in the Northern Territory.

Country Liberal president SUZANNE CAVANAGH says the party has not (not) made a deal
to swap preferences with One Nation but has to make the right decision for the Northern
Territory.

Ms CAVANAGH says her party hasn't sought One Nation's preferences and has suggested
that the vote that One Nation receives will not make any difference one way or another.
